The city of Tortum had a population of 2,829 Armenians in 1915.
There are 13 Armenians villages in the kaza of Tortum and the headquarters of the third army was there in 1915.
We don't know what happened to the Armenians. We think they wera all slaughtered as there are no witnesses left.
